I think that my work this grading period was overall quite good. The pictures that I took at the football games ended up looking great, even though there were a few blurry ones that didn't turn out so well. Also, I had to schedule 2 appointments to take pictures of new assistant principal Ted Benning, because the lighting was off in the first round of photos. Next time, I need to make sure all aspects of the photo are good before I take it.

 

My article for this grading period was a success in my opinion. I know it was written quite well, the only issue was that, in my first draft, I did not have enough personal information about Benning. I did have to go back to him to ask a second round of questions in order to amend that issue. For the next article I write, I will have to make sure that I have covered all the aspects of the story I need to in my interview questions. I will have to be more thorough.

 

This grading period I did the layout for the front page, which I think ended up quite well. If I do another front page in the future, I will probably try to use pictures that directly correlate with the articles. I did really like the bar of articles and their corresponding pages, though the colors will need to be adjusted so they match the colors of the heading and logo.

 

Overall, I am satisfied with the work I did this semester. I hope to continue to be pleased with my pictures, articles, and layouts, and I look forward to striving for improvement in all areas.
